COVID-19
Here is the message we received from The Reef restaurant on 3/18/20 regarding our event. “At the moment the restaurant is assessing each event on a case by case basis. The restaurant will be closed until March 31st. Once we reopen we will determine how we will proceed”.
We will inquire again after March 31st.
Important Information
Contract
Class of 2000, this is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill :)
The contract has been completed with the Reef Restaurant in Long Beach and a credit card has been given to reserve the space. We need at least 55 participants to meet the food and beverage minimum for the room but it holds a max of 80 people. We have approximately two months to collect money in order to move forward with the event; deadline is May 1, 2020.
Price per person is $80. This includes a dinner buffet and champagne toast (menu below), use of a private dining room with panoramic waterfront views (picture below), 10.25% sales tax and a 22% restaurant administrative fee that includes gratuity. There will be a cash bar and dance floor and a DJ has already been reserved. Please see the price break down below on how we came up with the per person fee for an estimated 65 people.
$55 (dinner fee) x 65 (people) = $3,575
$3,575 (dinner total) x 0.22 (admin fee) = $786.50
$3,575 (dinner total) + $786.50 (admin fee) = $4,361.50
$4,361.50 (dinner total + admin fee) x 0.1025 (sales tax) = $447
$4,361.50 (dinner total) + $447 (sales tax) = $4808.50
$4808.50 (total cost) / 65 (people) = $73.97. We rounded up to make sure we can cover any extra charges such as cake and decorations.
RSVP and Payment
Everyone must RSVP using the online form. Once your RSVP has been received, your name will be added to the RSVP list (the guest list is visible to everyone below to ensure transparency). Once you’ve submitted payment then your name will be added to the Final Guest List.
Please submit payment to one of the following options below. Last 4 numbers of cell is 4960. A receipt will be sent to the email address listed on your RSVP.

If you prefer to pay cash, please give the cash to a friend and have them submit your RSVP and payment through the payment options available. This will ensure that we keep a detailed record of all payments submitted.
THERE WILL BE NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
Guest List
The guest list will be updated every evening. This will allow classmates to see the event moving forward. This will also show that if we don’t receive a minimum of 55 paid guests, the event will be cancelled and the credit card will be removed from the contract. No exceptions! The best way to RSVP is to have you and your bff, significant other or groups of friends RSVP on the same day. That way you know your peeps are going.
Refunds
The deadline for 100% refund is May 1, 2020.
After May 1st, all payments are non-refundable. If you need to cancel after May 1st, please try to sell your ticket to another classmate. Just let us know that you sold your ticket and we will update the guest list with the new persons name.
If the event is cancelled due to lack of participation, then all payments will be refunded in the same form payment was received (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle). If we have at least 55 classmates and guests, we will move forward with the event.
Important Dates to Remember
Now until May 1: Classmates should RSVP and submit payment. We need at least 55 paid guests. The event is now first come first serve up to 80 guests. Class of 2000 and their plus one will have priority.
May 1: Deadline for 100% refund
May 2: Event will be cancelled if at least 55 participants have not paid
May 31: Last day to RSVP and submit payment
June 1: RSVP link will be deactivated
June 1 - June 30: any classmates needing to cancel should try to sell their ticket to another classmate while the RSVP link is deactivated
July 1 - July 10: If there is still space available, the RSVP link will open at $100 per person. Classmates could RSVP or add on additional guests
July 11: Final guest count will be submitted to the Reef Restaurant
July 25: All White Affair :)
